That's Amore!

5:43:00 AM

What does an Italian family do when their son gets engaged?  Well of course, they throw an Italian themed party!

With wine flowing and lots of laughter, it warmed our hearts to witness both families breaking bread at one long dinner table.  With music playing in the background and great homemade Italian food on the table, it was an evening for the memory books.  Now, that's AMORE!!

"Mangiare, Bere ed essere Felici"
"Eat Drink and be Happy"
This is an antique movie poster display. This was given to us by a family member.
We thought it was the perfect welcome sign.

It makes the planning easier if you stick with one type of appetizer.  In this case, a "Build Your Own Crostini" Bar was the perfect fit.  The possibilities are endless.

For the Crostini Bar, we used my Dad's old wine barrels and an old piece of heavy wood laying around.  Burlap, for this particular party was my best friend.  It was used to cover up unsightly areas and accented others.
The bucket eventually was filled with wine (of course)
The X & O was  used in February for a Valentine's Day Door Décor.
This was the night before.  Unfortunately, I've learned from experience to do a dry run when seating 60 plus people on one table.  The last thing you want is for your guests to not have a seat.
Table Décor Complete
In order to get the table wide enough for all the centerpieces, we doubled  up on the tables.
(Recognize the pots with Hydrangeas from last week's post?)
Instead of renting the tablecloths, we have a website we use to purchase.  When they have a sale, the cost is practically the same.
Breaking bread.....

We opted to have a buffet of homemade Italian food.  The bride's Dad is an amazing cook and he didn't disappoint.  My Dad made his famous lasagna of course we had Nonni's Pasta!
These mini trays and holders came from the dollar store.  Chalk paint was added and they were ready to go.  They are actually very sturdy and can be used over and over again.  I LOVE a great deal.

That's Amore!

Garrett and Ceirra! Those smiles say it all....
